Intro to myself & How my roles interact with Learning Technology?

I am currently working at City, University of London as an Assistant Educational Technologist. My role entails supporting Moodle, Echo360, Turnitin, PollEverywhere, Zoom, AdobeConnect and Kaltura via ServiceNow, running various training sessions and horizon scanning for new developments and improvments in the supported services.

I spent some time at University College London as a Digital Education Support Analyst, supporting the different educational technologies used such as Moodle, Turnitin, Echo360 and Opinio, as well as gaining an understanding of the needs of lecturers and staff with queries on RemedyForce and the phone. Before my role at UCL, I was an Assistant Educational Technologist and a Lecture Capture Reviewer for the EdTech team at City, University of London.

Why I want Associate CMALT?

Even though I’m fairly new to the world of Learning Technology, I feel gaining Associate CMALT will be good for me both personally and professionally. Professionally, it will allow me to reflect upon my knowledge, achievements and practice, develop skills and gain career development via experience in the field which I feel would be useful for me and most importantly, receive feedback and accreditation from peers with regards to my practice.

Having worked in HE in various role since graduation, one thing that stood out to me about the ALT was how highly it is regarded in educational technology teams. Many of my colleagues felt being a CMALT member and having CMALT accreditation was a boon to their careers and enjoyed the collaborative and CPD aspect of being a member. This is another reason why I would like to pursue the Associate CMALT accreditation.
